SPENDTHRIFT CLAUSE

A clause in a trust that limits the benefiary’s ability to assign the rights to receive future income or payments from the trust in exchange for money in the present. As such, the beneficiary is unable to spend the assets of the trust quickly and squander it by selling the future cash flow.
