RIGHT OF SURVIVORSHIP

Where the surviving owners of joint property acquire the property owned by a deceased joint tenant. The property owned by the deceased joint tenant does not pass to the decedent’s estate. This is also known as a Joint Tenancy with Right of Survivorship. See joint tenancy.
