REGISTRATION

Recording; inserting in an official register; the act of making a list, catalogue, schedule, or register, particularly of an official character, or of making entries therein. In re Supervisors of Election (C. C.) 1 Fed. 1. Registration of stock. In the practice of corporations this consists in recording in the official books of the company the name and address of the holder of each certificate of stock, with the date of its issue, and, in the case of a transfer of stock from one holder to another, the names of both parties and such other details as will identify the transaction and preserve a memorial or official record of its essential facts.
