A right which is granted for the advantage of one piece of land over another, and which may be exercised by every possessor of the land entitled against every possessor of the servient land. It always presupposes two pieces of land (prwdia) belonging to different proprietors; one burdened with the servitude, called “prw-dium serviens” and one for the advantage of which the servitude is-conferred, called “prcedium dominant” Mackeld Rom.
