The Federal Trade Commission requires that a seller must ship goods ordered by mail, phone or computer within 30 days from the date ordered or within the time agreed upon between the parties. If the seller cannot ship the goods within the time period, the seller must send notice to the buyer that the item is unavailable and providing the buyer with the option of a new shipping date or a refund.
