FROLIC AND DETOUR

TheLaw.com Law Dictionary & Black's Law Dictionary 2nd Ed.

Term used to describe conduct outside the scope of an employee’s employment, referring to non-employment related destinations visited by the employee while supposedly en route to a destination on behalf of the employer. For example, an employee may decide to visit a girlfriend while he is supposed to be traveling directly from work to pick up an appliance for the office from a retailer.
