DOING BUSINESS AS

Also known as a DBA a business owner may operate a company under a name different than a real name. Also known as a fictitious business name, a record must be filed with a local agency, usually the county clerk, which enables the general public to know the names of the business owners in the event the consumer needs to sue the business.
