Deliberately disobeyance of a court order. The conduct can occur in or out of court. In court the conduct may also be a significant disruption of or disregard for the court. Typical examples include refusal to obey a judge’s command (such as to quiet down), to refuse to answer proper questions, refusal to follow local court rules, etc. Contempt of court may be punishable by fine and/or imprisonment.
