Writing back checks between accounts in a circular fashion and playing the float so that each of them clear. For example, writing a check from Bank A to Bank B for more money than is in Bank A. Before the check clears in Bank B, a check is drawn from Bank B and deposited in Bank A upon which Bank A then confirms (erroneously) that there is or will be sufficient funds in the Bank A account to clear.
