CEASE AND DESIST LETTER

Frequently issued by a lawyer on behalf of an injured party, a letter sent to a party ordering them to stop an action that is causing injury and/or damages to the aggreived party, e.g. a letter claiming that a defendant is infringing upon the rights of an attorney’s client and should cease and desist from the use of the property immediately.
