BONA FIDE PURCHASER FOR VALUE WITHOUT NOTICE

A purchaser of property (or a monetary instrument) who does so without any idea that a prior claim exists on the property, e.g. the buyer of stolen property. Unless the purchaser has knowledge (or registration may exist for the property), the purchaser may not be liable for or subject to other claims made against the property.
