Latin for more favorable construction is to be placed on general or doubtful words. If words are very general or doubtful, it is preferred to have a more liberal interpretation of the words. This is a rule of construction that were words have a vague meaning and the actual intent and meaning is in doubt, they are to be interpreted liberally so as to try to give the intention that was intended by the grantor or by the parties. An attempt to construe vague words in a contract to mean what they were intended by the parties.
