VEREDICTUM

L. Latin: In old English law. A verdict; a declaration of the truth of a matter in issue, submitted to a jury for trial. Verediotum, quasi dictum veritatis f nt Judieinm quasi Juris dictum. Co. Litt 226. The verdict is, as it were, the dictum of truth; as the judgment is the dictum of law.
