(verb) – In conveyancing. To release or relinquish a claim; to execute a deed of quitclaim.
(noun) – A release or acquittance given to one man by another, in respect of any action that he has or might have against him. Also acquitting or giving up one’s claim or title. Termes de la Ley; Cowell. Quitclaim deed. A deed of conveyance operating by way of release; that Is, intended to pass any title, interest, or claim which the grantor may have in the premises, but not professing that such title is valid, nor containing any warranty or covenants for title.
