Usually accompanied by written briefs which are submitted prior, oral argument is the time where a party or their attorney is able to address the court orally to make their case and convince the court to find in their favor. It may also include questions by the judge or panel of judges and response of the attorney. Examples include opening statements or opening argument and closing arguments in court.
