MINERAL RIGHTS

Referring to the ownership interest in minerals that are contained on or found under a particular parcel of land, irrespective of the ownership of the surface of the land. The mineral rights owner is usually entitled to either (i) remove the minerals from the land or (ii) receive a royalty from someone who may be hired or contracted to extract the minerals. The right to use land to dig and search for and extract metals or natural rocks and minerals.
