MIDDLE OF THE ROAD

Not extreme. A neutral position. An expression typically meaning that this entity is taking no extremes in its strategies. It also refers to entities that target customers in the median income and spending tendencies range. The focus is on capturing the broadest possible market segment by delivering quality between high and low level. A middle-of-the-road strategy can produce good results but often loses ground to niche market competitors.
