IMPLIED WARRANTY OF FITNESS

Also known as Fitness for a Particular Purpose; a warranty where the seller knows or should know the reasons and purpose for which a buyer will use what is sold and warrants that it is suitable for the intended use. For example, if a buyer is going rock climbing, the seller knows that the rope sold must be strong enough to hold a significant amount of weight and not be only good enough to bind light objects.
