Incapacitated or disabled to some degree, a level at which a person’s judgment is diminished or decreased due to some force or substance. Primarily used in criminal law regarding DUI or DWI charges, driving under the influence of a substance or driving while intoxicated. A driver’s ability to drive is impaired while under the influence of alcohol.
