HIT AND RUN

Law requires that an operator of a motor vehicle who is involved in an automobile accident stay at the scene of the accident in order to exchange information with the other operator and wait for the police for a report should the situation likely warrant the presence of the police (e.g. after a minor accident the parties may exchange information and agree that police intervention is unnecessary, although such is not the case for more serious accidents.)
