HINDENI HOMINES

A society of men. The Saxons ranked men into three classes, and valued them, as to. satisfaction for injuries, etc., according to their class. The highest class were valued at 1,200s., and were called “twelf hindmen;” the middle class at 600s., and called “sexhindmen ;” the lowest at 200s., called “twyhindmen.” Their wives were termed “Hindus.” Brompt Leg.
