HERMAPHRODITE

In medical jurisprudence. A person of doubtful or double sex; one possessing, really or apparently, and in more or less developed form, some or all of the genital organs of both sexes. Hermaphroditus tarn masculo quam foeminse comparator, secundum prseval entiam sexus incalescentis. An hermaphrodite is to be considered male or female according to the predominance of the exciting sex. Co. Litt. 8; Bract fol. 5.
