A rule where a person who comes upon and, in good faith, aids an injured stranger is limited in liability for any further injuries that the injured person may suffer. This is done to encourage good Samaritans to act without fear of lawsuits as a result of questionably negligent acts during a time of emergency and made with best of intentions.
