FISSURE VEIN

In mining law. A vein or lode of mineralised matter filling a preexisting fissure or crack in the earth’s crust extending across the strata and generally extending indefinitely downward. See Crocker v. Manley, 164 111. 282, 46 N. EL 577, 56 Am. St Rep. 196.
