FAIR CREDIT BILLING ACT

Also known as the FCBA, this federal law provides a creditor with rights of correction to credit card statement errors. You must notify the credit card company of the error within 60 days of the mailing of the bill and then the company must correct the mistake or acknowledge your correspondence within 30 days. After this period they must correct the error within 90 days or explain why it takes a position that the statement is correct.
