In French law. Registration. A formality which consists in inscribing on a register, specially kept for the purpose by the government a summary analysis of certain deeds and documents. At the same time that such analysis is inscribed upon the register, the clerk places upon the deed a memorandum indicating the date upon which it was registered, and at the side of such memorandum an impression is made with a stamp.
