The share of the eldest. A term of the English law descriptive of the lot or share chosen by the eldest of coparceners when they make a voluntary partition. The first choice (primer election) belongs to the eldest Co. Litt 166.
Enltia pars semper prseferenda est propter privileginm ntatis. Co. Litt 166. The part of the elder sister is always to be preferred on account of the privilege of age.
