The use of sophisticated electronic equipment to eavesdrop or listen into the private conversations or watch the actions of individuals that is intended to be private. This may use equipment to intercept wire or wireless signals, hidden video cameras that send images through the air back to the person conducting the surveillance. These activities require a search warrant as doing so without one would violate a person’s reasonable expectation of privacy.
