DNA

Deoxyribonucleic acid. Chromosomes in living cells which determine the genetic makeup of a living being. The DNA of each person is different. Being able to obtain DNA evidence from the scene of a crime and match it to a criminal suspect aids in the ability to place the suspect at the scene of a crime or, in the event the DNA does not match, to exclude the likelihood from a person being at the scene of a crime.
