To permanent suspension an attorney’s license and a prohibition to engage in the practice of law. Usually conducted by the state bar and enforced where attorney conduct rises to the level of moral turpitude and significant acts of dishonesty and violations of ethics. In England, to deprive a barrister permanently of the privileges, of his position; it is analogous to striking an attorney off the rolls. In America, the word describes the act of a court in withdrawing from an attorney the right to practise at its bar.
