DIRECT EVIDENCE

Evidence that clearly and directly relates the proof of an existence of a fact in court. This is as opposed to circumstantial evidence, which is the need to use indirect facts to establish what is likely to have occurred. That which applies immediately to the fadum probandum, without any intervening process; as, if A testifies he saw B inflict a mortal wound on C, of which he, instantly died. 1 Greenl. Ev. Section 13.
