CORN

In English law, a general term for any sort of grain; but in America it is properly applied only to maize. Sullins v. State, 53 Ala. 476; Kerrlck v. Van Dusen, 32 Minn. 317, 20 N. W. 228; Com. v. A species of protective tariff formerly in existence in England, imposing import-duties on various kinds of grain. The corn laws were abolished in 1846. Corn rent.
