To join together multiple items into one.

To consolidate means something more than rearrange or redlvide. In a general sense, it means to unite into one mass or body, as to consolidate the forces of an army, or various funds. In parliamentary usage, to consolidate two bills is to unite them Into one. In law, to consolidate benefices is to combine them into one. Fairvlew v. Durland, 45 Iowa, 56. Consolidated fund. In England. A fund for the payment of the public debt Consolidated laws or statute. A collection or compilation into one statute or one code or volume of all the laws of the state in general, or of those relating to a particular subject; nearly the same as “compiled laws” or “compiled statutes.” See COMPILATION.
