Criminal Law; When two criminal sentences of jail time are to be served one after the other, e.g. two 15 year terms to be served consecutively results in 30 years in prison. See also concurrent sentence. When separate criminal sentences run consecutively, e.g. two five year sentences to be served consecutively will end after ten years.
