CONCURRENT SENTENCES

Criminal sentences to be served at the same time, concurrent with each other (shorter than consecutive, one after another.) The longest time is served, e.g. two sentences for two crimes constituting 5 years and 7 years will result in one sentence of 7 years but the 5 year sentence is included as being served concurrently while the 7 year sentence is incurred. A more lenient type of punishment.
