Work that is short in duration and does not contribute to the business in a significantly meaningful fashion, e.g. being hired for one day to sweep the floors of an office, a cleaning person, etc. Generally such labor is performed as an independent contractor and companies which provide casual labor are required to adhere to the same rules and principles that govern any other service provider.
