While alpha test is a first level, early stage and partially functional product, beta test is the second level where a working product exists and is expected to have bugs that will need to be fixed. Typically beta testers, a group of individuals that may be active customers or internal employees, will use the product on a limited basis for the purpose of identifying problems and providing feedback on improvement and enhancement.
