BENEFIT OF THE BARGAIN

Contract law. Refers to the rule that one has the right to receive that which they bargained for freely. Frequently used as the rule that a fraud victim can recover the positive difference between the actual value of the item and the value that the item was represented by the one perpetrating the fraud.
