AT WILL EMPLOYMENT

The right of an employer to fire employees at any time and for any reason or no reason. The employer hires the employee at the employer’s will. By the same token, employees may also terminate their employment and leave at any time and for any or no reason. While such employment provides great leeway to employers, they are still prohibited from terminating employees as a result of discrimination, violation of public policy or in conflict with written or implied promises that were made regarding the length or terms for termination.
