ARBITRATION CLAUSE

A clause within an agreement or contract which requires a party or the parties to settle any and all disputes in an arbitration proceeding rather than a court of law.

A clause inserted in a contract providing for compulsory arbitration in case of dispute as to rights or liabilities under it; ineffectual if it purports to oust the courts of jurisdiction entirely.
